Cannabis Chocolate Recipe

A simple recipe for making cannabis-infused chocolate.

Ingredients:

  • 7 grams (¼ ounce) good cannabis
  • 170 grams (6 ounces)  dark chocolate
  • 28 grams (1 ounce) chopped or whole nuts

Directions:

Finely break the cannabis down, making sure it is ready when the chocolate comes to a melt.  Break the chocolate into chunks and place it inside a microwaveable glass bowl.  Place in the microwave and heat on high for thirty seconds before stirring in the ground cannabis.  Now place the chocolate back into the microwave and heat on medium for an additional thirty seconds.  If necessary, continue heating the chocolate in short increments  until it is well melted.

Once adequately melted, stir in the nuts (dried fruit and M&M’s are other suggestions)  and then use your favorite chocolate mold to shape your THC treats. Enjoy!

FYI, you should NEVER microwave chocolate…..you will always get a burnt taste. Plus if you also microwave your cannabis butter, it will loose some of it’s THC level.. just thought you should know 🙂

You can microwave chocolate without getting a burnt taste by microwaving on a lower power setting in 30 second increments, stirring, and repeating as necessary. The THC leaving thing is likely accurate enough tho. Apparently the boiling point of THC is 200 degrees celsius.

STOP ADDING RAW PLANT MATERIAL IN YOUR RECIPES THAT MAKES PEOPLE SICK. You’re always supposed to extract the THC in to butter or cooking oil FIRST and add the dosed oil to your recipes. YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO INGEST RAW PLANT MATTER.

    Get your facts straight.

      Ronald Thats Total BS
I eaten Raw Marijuana for years you get the same high as if you went the extraction processes

Your Stomach will break it down just fine.
actually Raw pot gets into your system faster than if its mixed with abunch of other ingredients
if you get sick from raw marijuana your getting sick from chemicals sprayed on the plants NOT the Marijuana
people have been eating marijuana for 1000s of years

It’s not BS at all, sadly. I threw up on an airplane after hours of unpleasantness and having weed scented farts. It sounds funny but it wasn’t fun

I realized every time I eat it raw or lightly processed I get a rash and reaction. Real dispensary stuff doesn’t do this. I’m not a gluten sensitive pansy or into a specialized diet. I eat everything but this messes me up bigtime.

Paul, I’m not a gluten pansy. I have a disease called Celeac. We get very sick on wheat, barley and rye. All contains gluten. And we are not sensitive we are intolerant not allergy.

He’s right. The whole plant is editable and has very differnt cannabinoids ratios. I like how he comes in hot like he knows everything but he just herd something from someone!!

        Amen Bud Eater,

Eating raw cannabis is one of the most nutritious plants on earth. Hemp seeds has one of the highest levels of Omega’s 3 and 6 on earth.

You are able to juice cannabis and when it is not heated but any means you will not get high in theory. This recipe does not call for raw cannabis but for ground bud and dried leaves. This is just like herbs from your garden, you can use it directly in the food you make or you can dry it. Just remember as a rule of thumb that when it is dried you need to add more to the dish to get the same flavor of the fresh.

Know your facts and chemical compounds(= Consumed “raw”, marijuana is metabolized in the liver. If the marijuana is heated to, around, 170 degrees for, around, 20 minutes, it is metabolized even more efficiently and the end result is, usually, more pronounced……………hence, edibles causing a different, and more pronounce effect. Without science and chemistry knowledge of the “facts”, you have “opinion” and we all know what opinions are like.

Whoa this recipe is all kinds of wrong I was thinking it was a joke! One thing this recipe doesn’t mention is decarboxylating the marijuana before mixing it with the chocolate. I decarb my weed at 240 degrees for one hour.

I cannot eat raw cannabis due to the fiber content. I have a microscopic colitis condition. I think some people have other adversities and allergies to cannabis. So that could be Paul’s problem. I can drink cannabis juice, but raw fresh cannabis really causes me problems. Dried, decarboxylated cannabis in small doses, i.e. 1/4 tsp, is not a problem.

I made chocolates with this recipe, melting the Hershey’s dark chocolate in the microwave – on HIGH – for 30 seconds at a time. I watched it carefully and stirred frequently. I dropped the chocolate onto parchment paper and it made chocolate wafers. They are yummy! I knew how many servings I was going to make and so I put that amount of servings of decarbed weed into the chocolate. I like this method for the accuracy of dosing measurement even though you have to have actual bud in the chocolate.

It always amazes me that these websites position themselves as being experts, yet you see the most amateur shit all over the place. Forums actually often have more accurate info. I must say this recipe is sad for multiple reasons. A) you gotta decarb the weed, don’t be dumb guys THCA does not get you high and since you don’t smoke your edibles it makes sense to add heat and decarboxulate your weed to turn the THCA into THC which is probably what you want. Also do an oil extraction first, because otherwise you are basically wasting your bud. Not to mention a much better taste. B) sticking raw weed in the microwave is generally not smart. Microwaves are much more efficient at agitating the THC particles and likely destroying them then providing a heat catalyst for either THCA into THC and/or the binding of cannabinoids to fats(as to make them more readily available to be processed by your body) and is thus missing the two most crucial factors in making edibles. I could maybe see this if you live in a door room or prision, but this has got to be the worst edible recipe I’ve encountered

I put my weed in a coffee grinder straight outa the sac grind it to a fine powder then add it to the chocolate well its still in the dbl boiler for melting the chocolate then add a pad of unsalted butter and the pecans the butters to make the chocolate a bit softer but no you do not have to decarb the weed before hand ive never messed with it and one of my chocolates will keep you high for hours

In response to these comments about using cannabis leaf while cooking. Some people may like eating a dried up old weed but it’s not very tasty or the texture is nasty too. However, medical marijuana patients should not be given food with actual leaf.

My daughter decided one day she was going to make marijuana brownies… She dumped about a quarter ounce or less into a boxed brownie mix and bake them… The effect we got from this batch of brownies was crazy intense. Then, with the same marijuana… Went through the the process of making the butter and using it in brownies….although the effect was good….wasn’t nearly as intense as the first batch. I never claimed to know anything about cooking or baking with marijuana…but would appreciate some feedback on why this might be…I pretty confident my butter is made correctly (so to get the best results)

You need to decarb it first. Grind it up pretty well, but not finely. Place it evenly on a cooking pan and put it in the oven on 250 for about 45mins. You’re turning THC-A into actual THC. So basically getting rid of the acid in it activating the psychoactive properties within it. (My process) Then use your crock pot as a double boiler and put the decarbed cannabis into a container with butter or oil on low overnight or 12hrs. This has worked over and over again with outstanding results.

I would say because your cannibutter does not include the actual bud itself you may loose the effect. I do make brownies. decarb my weed first and then mix it into the warm oil to break it down more and then mix in my brownie mix and bake with 5 mins less of time, I like to cut up my pieces while its still on the soft side if you leave it to long its a pain to cut.

Mixing dried cannabis with an oil also activates the THC. So if you use peanut butter, cocoa, dried finely ground cannabis and any assortment of nuts and chopped dried fruit, for example, you’ll get high. I’ve never been ill with this treatment, and none of my friends.

Absolutely terrible recipe! This needs to be taken down! First thing is you’re ruining your chocolate by microwaving it. Secondly and most importantly, you’re WASTING good cannabis by just grinding it and putting it in your mixture. DECARBOXYLATION!

First, You need to decarboxylate your dry Cannabis by grinding it up & baking it on a baking sheet on low heat. I usually decarb at 215 degrees for about 15-20 minutes. Decarbing will activate the THC-A into D9-THC. Then I recommend making Cannabutter by simmering your decarbed dry herb into melted butter and then strain out the dry Cannabis. Now use the activated butter to mix with your chocolate or to cook with. You can also use Cannabutter for cooking brownies, cookies, or any number of other dishes. I hope this helps.

Are you sure you add non decarbolated cannabis to chocolate?
All i see happening is a right nasty chew and a lot of extra fibers we cant digest properly.

I extract my cannabis into coconut oil. If making chocolate i make it four times concentrated so you can get a real bang out of a little.
You can dose a pot of chocolate but i have intividual warming pots i put 4 ounces of belgium chocolate Then add the concentrated coconut oil.

A lot of people use distillate in the edibles being offered in most places. Its strong but missing everything but thc and possible re introduced terps but not often even from cannabis.

I love using butter and coconut oil. I even use home made RSO in somethings. You can use any extraction that is activated for edibles. If its not activated there is no happy results.

If the cannabis is activated ( bake covered in foil at 240 for an hour ) then you can eat it like described above. I just do not see it being very good.

  15. Just a question…not trying to jump into world war 3. If you put the cannabis in the chocolate, and then melt the chocolate with heat, would that amount of heat decarb it ? I decarb mine in the oven at 240′ for 40-60 minutes before I put it in my butter or tintures. Personally, I would use infused coconut oil tincture instead of raw bud. I wouldn’t care for the taste or texture of eating raw plant material.
